Our History
From a student kitchen idea to München's coolest comedy club
The First Words
StuStandUp was born from a simple question in a student kitchen: 'What if we did a standup night at the Kade?' Three students, one mic, and a borrowed spotlight later — a comedy club was founded.
First Meetup
Our inaugural meetup drew 12 students who sat in a circle, shared bits, and laughed until Kade staff had to ask us to keep it down. We did not keep it down.
First Show: Summer Sweat
The debut StuStandUp Comedy Show. Sold out (we had 60 chairs). Three performers, an open bar, and a summer evening that nobody who was there will forget.
Back to Campus Meetup
The start of winter semester welcomed new students to the StuStandUp family. We welcomed 20 new faces, several of whom are now our regular performers.
Semester Finale Show
The biggest show yet. Six performers, standing room only, and the unofficial title of 'Best Night of Winter Semester' from everyone who attended.
New Year, New Bits Meetup
We started 2025 with fresh material, recycled jokes, and a lot of laughter. 25 students attended the first meetup of the year.

About StuStandUp
Munich's student standup comedy club
The Story
StuStandUp was born in April 2024 when a small group of students at Studentenstadt München decided that what the campus was missing wasn't another study group — it was a comedy club.
We started with a circle of chairs in a common room and a dream. A few months later, we were filling Kade with laughter on a monthly basis. Students from every faculty, every background, and every sense of humor found a home here.
Today, StuStandUp runs Comedy Shows — proper curated evenings with student performers on stage — and Comedy Meetups — relaxed gatherings where anyone can try the mic or just enjoy the vibe.
What We Stand For
Student Voice
Every performer is a student. No professional comedians, no polished acts — just real people with real observations about campus life, Deutsche Bahn, and the meaning of it all.
Open to Everyone
You don't have to be funny to come. You don't have to speak German. You don't even have to try the mic. Just show up.
Kade Spirit
We perform at Kade, the legendary club in the Studentenstadt basement. There's something magic about that room — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Comedy Culture
We want to build a real comedy culture at LMU, TUM, and beyond. Shows, workshops, open mics — this is just the beginning.
Kade
Kade is the legendary club and bar in the basement of the Max-Kade-Haus Vorbau (MKH Vorbau) in Studentenstadt München. For decades, it's been the beating heart of student nightlife in Bogenhausen.
It's a space with character — exposed walls, warm lighting, and an atmosphere that somehow makes every comedy show feel like an underground secret club. We love it unironically.
